I pass through this place on a regular basis, it is a really good hub of countryside social activities.
Natural campsite with minimal facilities (water and waste point). Very dark and quiet forest at night so I had a great sleep just a shame it is open for camping at limited times of the year.
Brilliant location! I have only camped there once but it was great. Because it is a good biking area, there are many good trails right on your doorstep. You can do the Follow The Dog trail this Birches Valley or follow the fore road to marquis drive ( both great places). I live very close to tackeroo so I pass by often and it friendly. It also has fresh drinkable outdoor taps for passing riders and campers. Highly recommended
Peaceful spot. Chemical toilet emptying and cold water taps are the only facilities. Gets busy with mountain bikers during the day.
When it is open it can offer some easy going woodland camping for caravans, campervans and motorhomes which is sometimes hard to find. However, there can be larger groups as a result of the free nature if the site. As a result some choice language can escape and late night live music isn't unheard of. Not a problem if you are expecting it and the site is large enough to usually allow some seclusion but don't expect complete tranquility.
