Amazon is a great place for high quality cheap low priced products but the place can be a bit like fox-con due to sweat shop workers
I have worked there it is good place to work ok they have targets they have a sizeable canteen free vending machines they know how to look after there staff would I go back there I probably would if I had to I can't understand we here the negative comments come from
honest review after working for 4 months.Worked as a picker, packer and Stower. Both inbound and outbound. 90% of the negative comments here are criticising the working condition for me personally I think the targets and the actual conditions are fair. What do you expect? Get paid for sitting down? But to my surprise what people dont speak about which is a everyday reality is the discrimination and the unfair treatment of temp workers and especially if your not from Eastern European background. Once you get through the day zero and day 1, basically you are in the hands of the most uneducated people claiming to be leaders, PG (processing guides) and problem solvers. 90% of them are Romanian. A lot of them have family connections and been there for years. And they walk around like they are superior to these green badge temp workers. Youll be spoken to like youve never be spoken to before, looked down upon like youve never experienced before so just prepare to put up a fight and stand up for urself and right. Another thing to prepare for is always expect to get that tap on the shoulder at any time, could be 3 am if your working at night shift. To be told its time to go and be escorted out of the building by 3 giant security like your criminal whilst the whole FC watches. You will feel humiliated, exploited and all in all completely mentally drained. If you are someone whos mentally strong and can stand up for themselves then give it a go. If not then dont bother, you wont survive and youll be mentally effected.
This isn't the typical business place of today, they expect you to work and have a brain. If your capable, have good time keeping and they have the work for you then the place is all good!Every business lays off people at Christmas time it's called 'Christmas temps' for a reason... Yes they'll keep you if they need too...Think:Would you pay for a cleaner to clean your house if it was already clean? =/I enjoyed my 6 months here, I left due to my second job offering me more hours & pay to become full time.
I haven't actually had the honour of working for this company, but I really want to. How dare these people complain about working conditions. They do have a choice. Either work,or go home. It's as simple as that!!!
